. . . . .

There are so many great places to eat in the DC area. SO many.

So today I’m going to tell you my favorite places to eat lunch.

We eat out a lot, a lot a lot. We have favorite lunch spots, and brunch spots, and fancy spots, and cheap spots. The possibilities are endless.

So in no order of preference, here are our top 5 favorite lunch spots in the DC area.

. . . . .

1. Dogwood Tavern

Similar to, but better than: Applebee’s (it’s really not similar to many things, but definitely better than an American chain)

What I order: A buffalo chicken wrap with waffle fries and a Diet Coke

Approximate cost: $11

Don’t miss: The veggie skewers.

Etc.: The waffle fries are the delicious. The buffalo wrap and salad are crave-worthy and the atmosphere is warm and cozy. Bonus, it’s right across the street from work.

. . . . .

2. Best Buns

Similar to, but better than: Panera

What I order: Roast Chicken Salad

Approximate cost: $10

What not to miss: Anything really. The breads, the baked goods, the salads. This little bakery makes all of the delicious breads for all of the Great American Restaurants in the area. Pretty awesome.

. . . . .

3. Elevation Burger

Similar to, but better than: Five Guys Burgers & Fries

What I order: The kid’s Elevation Burger with cheese, grilled onions, ketchup, and lettuce. Shoestring fries and a drink.

Approximate cost: $9

What not to miss: The Cinnamon Orange iced tea. Seems weird, but is surprisingly delicious.

. . . . .

4. Meat in a Box

Similar to, but better than: any kabob place

What I order: Chicken Kabob Platter

Approximate cost: $8

What not to miss: The pita with yogurt sauce. SO good.

Etc: This place has an unfortunate name, but it’s totally worth it. Every time we eat there the owner brings out free appetizers, bonus!

. . . . .

5. Bagel Café

Similar to, but better than: Einstein Bagels

What I order: Chicken Salad on an Everything bagel

Approximate cost: $6

What not to miss: The potato salad and the massive rice krispie treats.

. . . . .
